When there is change, people react. Sometimes people embrace the opportunity and run with the challenge. But often, the reaction is resistance. There are many reactions to change including fear, resentment and a lack of understanding.
It was good the way it was - Don't fix it if its not broken - The common tag lines can go on and on.
This session takes a look at the barriers to change and how those barriers may be causing you more stress than necessary. Take a look at the phases of change and how you relate to each. Realize that even though you may be holding in your opinions, your emotions still show. Learn how to diffuse your negative emotions around change and begin to feel more comfortable with it - even if you don't always agree with it. Understand effective communication channels to ease the transition and manage stress levels within yourself and your peers.

Working under pressure is challenging and usually unavoidable. It can create tension, fear, confusion, sleeplessness, irritability and more. Applying certain techniques can lessen and prevent the negative effects of pressure.
This session will provide instruction and an action plan that you can implement immediately to prepare for handling pressure more positively and productively.

Employee Assistance Professionals will respond to critical incident occurrences in the workplace within the 24-72-hour period following the event. Diffusing, grief and/or debriefing techniques will be initiated, as indicated, followed up by managed support. Mitchell-model process will be employed, as indicated.

In these times of uncertainty, the economic roller coaster continues to surround us with unpredictable and unsettling news. It is natural to feel confused, nervous and sometimes panicked. But it is in those times that your emotional control is most critical to you and those around you. In fact, the way you manage through this will have impact on how you come out of it.
But this is not easy. Nor is it always the norm. It takes focus, discipline, a conscious effort and commitment. It requires an holistic approach by managing all aspects of your life because when one area is "off" the others suffer. This is not a time to withdraw, this is the time to work smart, sleep and eat right, nurture personal relationships, manage your finances, position yourself for the future and somewhere in there you need to have fun! As overwhelming as that sounds, this program will show you how to do all of that in a way that actually lightens the load.
REALITY CHECK: Because we realize and respect that your life is full, we understand it is often difficult to remember to focus on "what you need" versus what "should" get done now. To prevent that, this program is spread out in small segments to give you the opportunity to experiment with what you learn at a pace that is good for you while you lock in new habits. You will create realistic action plans PLUS receive continuous support to execute those plans, work through challenges and stay on track.
